Question DIY D/P + Turbo I/C Heatshield

I'm thinking of building a heat shield, similar to the type regularly used to isolate an induction kit within the engine bay (I built one of these on my old classic), to try to seperate the heat areas of the turbo and down-pipe from the underside of the I/C on my 02 STI UK.

Has anyone done something similar ?

I know that the D/P already has a heat shield, but this would be considerably more effective (better materials etc).

My only concern would be the effect on the air flow from the I/C, which I'll have to try to maintain, by making the shield follow the D/P closely.

Any thoughts ?

Mark
