levels of knock?
hi everyone need some advice on the knock meter on the apexi fc not knowing alot about all this i'm not sure whats normal? i have a 94 wrx with quite a few mods and had a problem with not holding boost at high revs (@1.3bar) so took the car to paul at zen performance who found an air leek on the blank plate on the sti5 intercooler! so fixed that and remapped at 1.45bar, also 1.1bar, ever since it seems that the level of knock on the fc commander is higher but only at very high speeds, it hit a peak 62? need to know if this is acceptable or should i be worried??? any advice would be much appreciated.

I'd say thats a bit high. I think the engine warning light flashes when knock hits 80, and 62 sounds a bit too close to that for my liking. Most people get in the teens or 20's I think.
I know the warmer weather reduces power, but does it also increase det?

i also have a 94 wrx with the apexi power fc and a knock of 62 is a little high. im getting exactly the same problem and its due to the warmer weather, the warmer air can alter the fuel-air ratio and possibly cause detonation which is bad. my advise is to take your car back to zen and get them to make some adjustments to your map and that will solve the problem.

this should help mate, as said by scott you should be looking at no more than 30 on your commander, get it looked at ASAP.
if it was my car i would stay off boost until then too!

It all depends on the individual engine. .the phase 1 engine is noiser than the phase 2 and you cannot compare it knock level wise.
you need to speak to Paul and he will know what he was seeing during the mapping and so can advise if it is a problem or not and a resolution from there.
Also you can go to "Settings --> ign/inj" and drop the ign down 4degrees and then do the same run.. if it was det then you now should see less knock level.. this resets with an ignition cycle btw.
