At what fuel pressure?
Anymore than 330-340 BHP at standard fuel pressure you will be wanting to look at 550's TBH

Why run them right on the limit? cant think of any more of a waste of time than your mapper not being able to sort the job out cos your fuel supply is maxed out on the day.

If you cant afford to do it properly then dont do it. Your fuel consumption at 450 BHP will mean that the difference in cash between 550's and 740's will soon be eaten up in a few tanks worth so maybe your pushing your budget anyway?
Not saying that in a rude manner, just pointing out that everything costs somehow.

3K does that include the pistons and rods, labour to build the bottom end you will need (assuming you are still on standard subaru stuff and / or you are not DIY'ing it), Turbo, intercooler, all the other things you will require etc to a) achieve this and b) do it reliably?
I would also save a bit for a gearbox unless you are on a 6 speed STI box already

Im assuming you are using a 'built' 2.5 motor and not a standard subaru 2.5?
450BHP and nitrous means i dont think a standard one will last long if you give it the beans.
I honestly think you are underbudgetting a bit to try and run that kind of BHP reliably.
Wah, sorry for the hijack, my last post on this

agree with mark
you could waste 8k on building a wrx to 450 bhp easily (not doing the work your self)
whats made you go for nitrus rather than a bigger turbo

BIG BANG IMINENT!
450 is 450 is 450. if the pistons cant take it, they wont - never mind if its produced by nitrous or a frapping great turbo!
