Angry Help required! Engine Stutters????????

When i try an accelarate hard on occasions the car has a massive loss of power as if theres no fuel getting through although im pretty sure this isnt the problem, its quite hard to describe exactly what happens an it doesnt do it all the time, can anybody suggest what is the cause of this?
Perhaps the MAF sensor?
The car is an MY93 WRX only mods are a 3inch exhaust from the turbo back.

Sounds more like fuel cut to me , hitting to much boost in higher gears , what boost are you reaching ? Fuel cut is around 1.2 bar also running with no air filter is not a good idea could be running lean and sucking all sorts into engine .
