Default identifying a turbo

Is there anyway of telling what turbo is fitted to my92/93 without physically removing the turbo? Mine should have a td05 but it hasnt, it has been replaced at some stage with a turbo from a breakers but I dont know what it is. I believe it is possibly a vf series from a legacy??? are there any identifying marks that I can check?

cheers

Look at the exhaust outlet, TD's series have a large oblong outlet with 5 bolts. But I could be talking out of my ****.

If it doesn't have that rectangular raised plate on it then it's not a TD-series, more likely a VF. They have IHI Turbo cast onto them and have a flatter ID plate with more 'typed-in' letters if you get what I mean.
