turbo blankets??? should they smoke when new?
ive bought one off ebay (proberbly says it all), fitted it to the car and taken it for a hard drive. my car is running 1bar boost so its sightly tuned. i gave it "****" on and off for 5 minutes but when i arrived home the blanket was smoking (white) but not giving a smell. smoking enough to be coming out of the scoop very noticable (i actually though my header tank had poped again).
its cooled down now and ive had a decent look. it hasnt appeared to burn/go brown but has very tiny heat bubbles but not all over it.
is this normal? i just didnt want it to set on fire.
please help.

Can't give a definate yes or no answer to your question as I have never fitted a turdo blancket but when I have used exhaust wrap I have found that to smoke when new, I think it took around 15 mins to fully cure with heat did smell abit but after the first warm up run was fine after that with no problems. Hope this helps.
yes ive got wraped up and downpipes, they both smely awful 1st time giving it some boost. but i am concerned. ive asked a friend who has a turbo blanket and hes has melted slightly.
