Default check engine light.....

my check engine light has come on but as soon as i dip the clutch it goes and doesn't come back on for a while.? ive checked as much as i know which isn't a great deal, if im honest ie the oil levels and coolant.
also every now and then when im driving all of a sudden no power but it almost puts me through the bloody windscreen.. oh its a my93

any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated as im totaly new to scoobs Totaly different to my pajero a wee bit faster on overtaking AND better on fuel result.

mine does the same thing, the putting you through the winderscreen is maybe because when your powering along and the check engine light comes on it limits the car.. cuts all power above about 4 an half k, new to scoobs as well but thats what mine does anyway. i plugged the 2 black wires together to get the fault code and it came up with 5 different ones. if i was you id get it looked at as soon as poss, could be something silly but the light only comes on to tell you something isnt right..keep driving it and you could be doing more damage.
as i say new to em myself so only talking from slight experience
