trailer / towbar wiring
someone must know but i guess no-one looks in the electrical section....
well ive got hold of a second hand towbar and wiring and ive fitted the towbar,
anyway now i need to sort the wiring out on my98 classic wagon turbo
am i right in there should be a factory fit connector somewhere in the boot to connect into ?
also does the relay for indicators need upgrading ?
and is there a tell tale light in the dash ? (im not really fussed about this as i wont be towing that often or any great distance)

Hi rgv_stu, when it was on my car, I used the blue wire tap blocks to make connections, the type that you squeeze togethor, cant remember the correct name for them as I couldnt see a loom take off point. There was no tell tale on my dash board, but there was a buzzer in the wiring kit that acts as the tell tale.
Hope this helps.

aye cheers bruce, bar went on no probs mate
the blue things you refer to are scotchlocks and as nifty as they are , they are proper crap! having worked as an audio visual engineer on cars / buses you wouldnt believe how many problems have been caused by them things!
from what i gather there should be a connector somewhere that i can plug straight into according to the subaru wiring manual i have, i just havent had a chance to remove anything to look. worse case scenario is i cut, splice, solder and heatshrink it together but id rather use / makeup the proper connector if there is one.
