uprated oil pump?
hi all, im on the verge of rebuilding my bottom end, as its decided it wants to knock. the thing is ive been told a uprated oil pump is best is this just a genuine subaru oil pump modified? if so can i modify one myself or would it be best just buying one already modded.

These are Subaru pumps which have been modified to prevent them "sticking". They don't cost much more than a standard part and for peace of mind alone they are worth the extra money. I had one fitted to mine when it was rebuilt.

Yes, the RCMS version is the one I have. You can get them from places other than Roger Clarke, but the modification is the same. It's also worth noting that they are not uprated to provide a higher flow-rate, but simply to stop them failing and causing bottom-end damage.
