Question rear fog lamp dont work.

i was checking my light ( as you do ), but the rear fogs dont work. i changed the bulbs but nothing. there the afterburner type ones. is there a fuse/relay for them at all, ive look under the bonet. but all the fuses seem fine. any ideas?

every other light works fine

You know they only work with side (or perhaps it's dip beam) on? Switch on dip beam then check the fog lights again.

Is it an import with an after market Fog fitted?
If so the wires are usually "scotch locked" onto the lighting cicuit. One may have come off. They are usually connected to the swich with female spade ends. The wire could have come out of the spade.

check the place where the bulb plugs in. It might not be making proper contact. Get a multi meter and check for 12v DC through the circuit.

checked that to. im going to have to get the tester out. check see if powers going to the lights at all. not really the weather for it, the bulbs are new as the others blown. thats what made me think theres a relay/fuse some where. as i said i check under the bonet ect. changed the relays around, still nothing.

hopfully next week it warms up, dont want water in the conections at all.

im not sure about the UK fog M8 sorry. There could be a relay but to be honest i dont know! take the top from the fuse panel and see if there is a picture that matches the picture on the switch. Unfortunately the relays are usually boxes with numbers in. You would need a workshop manual to find what number relay does what.

Check the switch is OK. At least you will be inside the car.

Been snowing here so i understand that!

Are you sure they actually have fog lights in them?I looked at buying a set a year or two ago and didnt cos there was no fog light built in hence then not being 'E' marked,The answer from many companies i had at the time was to fit an aftermarket fog light like the imports have.I didnt bother.

Just to add i guess you have two bulbs not lighting up when your checking the lights?Try putting it in reverse,Remember fog light and reverse light bulbs are exactly the same its only the lense colour thats different.
