hi all

what causes the popping and banging when you change down a gear?

i go down a short steep hill to work, in 2nd gear just rolling down, my back end is popping and banging like mad.

does this damage the engine? is it pressure buildiing up and blowing out the back?

it sounds great but is it damaging the engine?

when engine is running rich, its just unburnt fuel combusting in exhaust, mine does it all the time now its decatted and remapped

mine kicks out flames as well when i push it

wont do any damage eccept maybe cook bumper a bit lol

thats good news, i also have a decat but not remapped

ive had numerous oil leaks, so called to do with pressure build up

just wondered if it connected

no mate, only thing is decats can cause boost problems, mainly overboost becuase your reducing back pressure. best bet just get it on a dyno and get it checked out, have a look at the group buy bit, theres a thing for remaps, not sure if its still open or not though

 

had it on rollingroad at scoobyclinic when they fitted the exhaust
there was no problems then, (a year ago)????


remap would be good but i need some decent brakes 1st.

if only i had 10grand floating about.
