ok my car is playing up and i need your help to diagnose it.
here goes you just touch the throttle it accelerates fine, put your foot down and there is a hestaton at about 3000-4000 then it will clear and go fine.

This is only started happening and sometimes on start up it idles very low any ideas could these be connected in any way

ive had the same sort ov problems mainly on start up when cold ,its fine when warm.Took out coil packs and found a cracked one thought it may be that so cheak yours.I later had my car diognosed and found that the mass air flow meter is buggered,so i need a new one.Been told that this will cause a judder due to it sending the wrong signals i.e running to rich. Hope that helps mate.

no the earlier cars had a coil pack per cylinder. If yours has 4 leads that go to the top of the engine then you dont have the coilpacks, it is in effect a distributor that you have.

I would check the usual suspects like plugs and boost control solenoid. When was the car last serviced?

I had a similar problem a couple of months back. Do a search on cleaning boost solenoid.

Is your car a MY99 / MY00 by any chance? I had similiar problem with my MY00. Turned out to be a ****e ECU (AE802) and was fixed by changing it to an AE801 ecu.

Just a thought..... Phill

It's, your spark plugs mate. Same thing was happening to mine. New set of NGK's and has been fine ever since.

just read this

Yep sounds about right, didn't connect the black wires though and didn't start the car.
As you said,
Pipes off
Sol. unbolted (bottom nut likes to go for a walk under the air filter assy.)
Connect green wires under dash
Get can of brake cleaner ready
Hold sol. in large rag
Turn on ign. DO NOT START THE ENGINE
All valves, sol. etc and fan start to cycle, so lots of clicking / whooshing going on.
At this point Sol. should be pulsing away, so holding it in the rag give it hell with the brake cleaner up both ports. Really give it a good internal soaking until you
A- get tired
B - Get completely covered in dirty fluid
C - fluid running clear out of sol. (and up arm / side of car) is clear.
Once satisfied give it a blast for luck then turn off ignition and let valve drain / dry out whilst turning your attention to the pipes.
Remove pipes one at a time (remember which one goes where!! think the bent ended one goes to the back ) and again give them hell with the brake cleaner, Let them dry out for a couple of minutes and then re-fit.
I also cleaned out the small Dia. hoses that run from the T piece to the actuator. If you have a look you will see bloody little clips that shred your fingers!!

Refit sol. (retrieve bottom nut from under air filter assy)
Complain about the ridiculous size of hand required to fit bottom nut (retrieve bottom nut from under air filter assy again) (remove air filter assy as an option - its a lot easier to get at the little bugg@r)
Re-fit pipes after routing back through adjustable cable ties

Start her up, and go for a bit of a run
i dont understand the wire bit i take it 2 green wires go to 2 black wires do i just connect the greens together for this process
