Default Can injectors be too large

Will be shopping around for some injectors soon, and was wondering if you can go too large?

Only reason i was thinking this is if i was too aim for even more power later down the line, it would save changing them again.

Answer yes, you need to spec the injectors to suit whatever ecu you planon having. Too large and you will suffer from light throttle problems due to the injectors not turning on and off properlyto maintain correct afr, if you go too big on a std ecu then you just run pig rich, dilute the oil and risk big end damage.

Funny, once upon a time, we used to rate injectors based on how much power we wanted

Silly question but how would excess fuel get into the oil?

Bore wash, fuel getting past the rings into the oil.

I think Bob means you have to be careful if you're using the stock ecu, with big injectors.

The aftermarket ecu's, especially the better ones, have finer control over the injectors, so using big injectors isn't so bad.

Ultimately, if you want high power, you need big injectors, it's a case of getting the best combination of parts to do the job.

People tend to fit bigger injectors than they often need to, when they could increase the fuel pressure to give increase flow.

You will also find that on most of the injectors, increasing the fuel pressure gives better atomisation.

Injectors such as the 740's, and 850's are appauling at 3 bar.
