Default Ecu Fault or not?

Hey ever1 looking for some advice,

ive got a 1995 impreza wrx ra the car has got a decat system an induction kit and dump valve. since owning the car all ive had is problems. iv had it to various garages but no one seems to know what they are talking about.

my problems started with the car not boosting correctly it was only boosting about 5Psi so i had into a garage they replaced the lamda sensor and coil packs, and there was no improvement. so i then i took it to another garage and they said it sounded like an air flow meter so i replaced that which made no difference. adventually i found out that the actuator was faulty so replaced that. which gave the car boost but i couldnt get it set up correctly because the boost is cutting at about 7psi. I run the car conservitavely for about a week which ended in broken big end bearings.

so the car then got a new short block, with that i got new plugs, filters, and oil pump fitted. the engine is now run in. and still the same problem with this boost cutting out at 7psi, the boost only cuts in 3rd, 4th and 5th gears. but if the boost is screwed right down to where it doesnt go above 7psi the car will rev right up.

I have spoken to a few people who think that it is the ecu but iv spent alot of money and dont really want to buy a new ecu for it ad that not to be the problem.

Any help and advice would be very well appreciated.

Thumbs up

Your fist post and you’re asking a question like this.

This could turn out to be a very big list of possibles.

My best advice is find yourself a good garage, hand
Over responsibility and don’t accept keep being charged for
Things that haven’t fix the problem any decent garage worth its salt
and that deals in Subaru’s should have proven working parts to try
As a process of elimination etc. etc. etc.

Sorry don't know any garages up your end.
