engine rebuild problem
where do i start after 6 months off the road due to a broken ring i finally had the money for the upgrades that i wanted the engineer who specialises in scoobs rebuilds the car but when it comes to starting the car it runs really rough on tickover and comes up fault code 23 which is apparently maf sensor it is replaced 3 times and the same problem persists so the ecuis replaced problem persists lambda and temperature sensor replaced same problem fuel reg replaced same problem all the wiring checked as best as possible same problem
ecu is replaced with a link ecu (existing ome ecuteched) and the car runs
great well no it isnt great as the car went in for a engine rattle and now i am being told it needs a aftermarket ecu ie a link something i have not budgeted for and dont want and feel that this problem has been caused by the engineer
so dose anyone have any ideas

what did you pay for and exactly what work has been carried out??
if the endine was simply re-built/re-cond to std spec then you wouldn't be having any issue?? if you have had a more radical engine built or a 2.5 bottom end used for example then yes you probs will need an ECU??
your std one could be re-mapped??

the car was allready highly modded but the new stuff was a axis stage3 bottom end and a garrett gt12 the same injectors were being used for running in purposes as i allredy had a 2.5 with biggish turbo the ecutech mapping wouldnt have been much different especially as the poor running is only on idling
many different kinds of mafs were being used new second hand etc...
thanks for the comments though
