Question Wider induction?

Whats the best way to get more air in to the system? Can you simply buy a so called "big maf" pipe? As ultimately it will still go down to the same size by the time it gets to the turbo (unless its a 3" inlet)

Is that literally all you have to do?

What i have at the mo is standard pipe bore (78mm i believe) with a large filter that also have a 78mm inlet....

Should i just stick with that? Would the only real difference perhaps be spool characteristics?

the big maf pipe is only called that because it has a 3" end to fit on bigger inlets !! if you are refering to the perrin inlet

Neilo:
Take care as some turbo's don't like too big an induction pipe, as advised by several on my Engine thread a year ago (turbo 'hunts' at certain speeds)

thast fine, ill keep it as is, i was just unsure as to how the filter with a relatively thick neck could flow a good power....but then if its all got to go down to that diameter anyway then it much do

The turbo is only a VF22 hybrid so not too big, but on a 2.5
