Default TD04 classic-TD04 newage

something thats puzzled me for a while now..... why can you extract more power from the later wrx's running a td04 than is generally accepted for the late classics running the same size unit? always thought 280 was the limit on the classic but think ive seen over 300 quoted on the later cars after a remap,is this just down to the later cars more efficient intercoolers? or have i got it all wrong again?

I think the later cars have larger injectors too, but i may be wrong

And yes the Newage WRX have better intercoolers too

I am sure the injectors are the same, may be the bigger intercooler helps.

I am not sure what the tumbler valves/throttle have to do with the newage?

I think the new age cars also have variable valve timing
