biff question
ok, probably a biff question, but what ecu choices are available for an my93 wrx? i'm interested in getting the car mapped properly/correctly. now i know the best solution is to go for a new/proper ecu, skip the maf and run it off the map sensor. unfortunatley this is going to be 4 figures area.
so what is the best compromise to get a decent, not off the shelf/chip map?
jason
p.s. before anyone says use the search button i have, and didn't really find an answer

As far as I understand it, you can either fit a chip to your existing ecu, which will alter the timing, boost and fuelling so that more boost can be run on a map which is safe for UK fuel. These can be found at www.scoobyecu.co.uk.
The other option, which is more expensive, is to get a standalone apexi power fc which can be custom mapped to suit your specific car. Apparently the place to go for these is http://andyforrestperformance.co.uk/
I'm no expert, but hope this helps,

I think the most cost effective custom remap is via Scoobyclinic where they basically map a scoobyECU type chip added to your ECU. Not sure on prices but about £400-£500 fitted and mapped I think.
Otherwise its a replacement ECU, most cost effective is the Apexi PFC, fitted and mapped for around £850. Depending on location the usual suspects for mapping these are Zen Performance, Andy.F and Jolly Green Monster

cheers guys, who is the nearest person to me to map a power fc? i live near high wycombe. also how much is involved in fitting the power fc? is it just a case of unplu the ecu, plug in the apexi?
i've got my name down for the group buy on power fcs
