I've just went to fit an induction kit onto my 1996 impreza, Once fitted i started the car up but then the revs dropped and it cut out. i then took the induction kit off and put the standard airbox back on but the same happened, it started then cut out.

I've re-connected the MAF and everything else id took off but the problem still happens.

I left it for about 30mins then tried it again, it seemed to idle for a little bit longer but still cut out. Any ideas?

 

Problem now solved!

 

i would check that the maf sensor is plugged in properly and check that none of the wires have been damaged on removal, if all is definitely re-connected then you may have damaged your maf sensor in the process.
