Default Over reving inbetween gear shifts

Newbie Scooby owner,
Just perchased a 51 plate GX , WRX looky likey.
I've noticed that inbetween each gear shift that the revs seem to hang before dropping. The only tuning mod I can see is a big bore back box.
Any feed back would be appreciated.

Rob.

cheers funky
It seems to get a bit better when it's warmed up.
Could it be an automatic choke prob, or air filter

What car did you own before? I noticed this on "modern" cars (2000 on wards) when I first drove them.

The last car I had was a BMW 318i E36 1995, cone filter, eco tech valve, sport exhaust.
Would the Eco tech valve make any difference ?

Ditto - MY01 WRX does it as well. Too quick through the gears......

Cheers for that everyone,
I can now sleep at night, bloody new fangled cars.
I'll just have to take the lead out of my right foot.
