my97 turbo 2000. The engine check light comes on now and again, when i checked the code it tells me its the knock sensor. This happens mostly if the car has'nt been used for maybe say 4 or 5 days, once running for about 5 miles the light go's out and thats the end of it until the next time the car is'nt used for a bit.
Is this likely to be a faulty sensor or more of a misfire sort of problem when engine is cold?
p.s The engine sounds fine and i dont hear any misfire.
I was also told that when the check light go,s out you're ignition timing doesnt return to normal straight away, can somebody explain?

Probably a sensor but best get it checked out anyway/
