Can any one email me extracts from a workshop manual showing how to do the above.

It's for a bugeye WRX Front drive shaft where it exits the gearbox.

are you sure it is gearbox oil that is leaking ?
as it can be the grease leaking out of the drive shaft joint and it looks like its the gearbox seal

 

Thanks bikerthou. I'll have another look. In fact I'll clean it off and see if it re-appears. Did a couple of trackdays last year which gets the car very hot - I wonder if it leaked at this time and has just stayed there.
