Rear wheelarch offside fuel pipe cover. Bugeye
I've finally found the source of my annoying intermittant knocking noise. Changing a punctured rear i notice a large plastic cover in the wheelarch had a hole worn in it where the tyre has been rubbing.
Touching the cover I found it just fell away only being held on by a small nut at the bottom.
The other attachments seem to have rusted and broken away.
Anyway, is this a common thing on the Bugeye and how have people reattached it in the past? I'm thinking cable ties.
Just need to patch over the hole in the cover now, fortunately it seems the tyrewall never sustained any damage in the rubbing.
p.s. It's on the offside , covers the filler pipes for the fuel tank.
p.p.s. Before anyone says - I know my spellings carp

In case anyone else comes across this - the cover is a tenner and if you want it back to factory you need to replace the fuel pipe @ £100 as the fittings that hold the cover on rust off this pipe.
I'm going to reattach my securely tomorrow without replacing the pipe though.
