i was driving my car earlier this afternoon and noticed the check engine light come on, it stayed on for a couple of seconds and then went out, and it hasnt come back on since. i have checked over the car, there doesnt seem to be any leaks of oil or anything but im scared the damn thing is going to blow up if i take it over 3000rpm. it seems to be running the same as usual with no problems or noises. the one thing i have noticed is that the coolant fill up point has light brown sludge in the very top of it, dont know if this is usual or not to be honest.

any help or advice would be greatfully appreciated.
