I think some people on here got a sensor and digital read out quite cheap from some where like Maplin or Radio Spares?

 

Maplin do one for about a tenner. It's cheap and cheerful for sure, but all you have to do is run the probe through into the engine bay, unclip a boost hose, slip the probe in, tighten your hose clip down again and bob's your uncle.

Dodgy, but works. Reads up to 75C. Any more than that and your charge is too hot anyway. Make sure you put it on the cold side of the intercooler.
