Default Gruppe-s headers

Wanted to know a few things, whats the difference between the gruppe-s V1 and V2 headers, also which would be better to go for noting the standard ported headers that are available too.

Default

The V1 design had relativly thin pipe flange thickness and are thus prone to distortion and leaking under 1.5 bar pressure.
The V2 (current)design has much thicker flanges. Mine are gas tight @ 1.4 bar.
If you are doing a mild tune, say a UK turbo to 300 bhp or so, then you may be better off fitting ported cast iron headers from Harvey or API Engines. Harvey charges about £150. The headers are about 350/400.

If you are going to 400 bhp or there abouts you may be better off with the Gruppe S V2's.

I say maybe as supporting mods are an important factor too.

The trick is to have a combination of parts that compliment each other and perform.

Graham.
(Sti v3 with supporting mods and Gruppe S = 407 bhp)
