My central locking is making an abnormal 'machine' gun sound when it is unlocked. It clicks fine when locking, but sounds ridiculous when I unlock it!(only on drivers side) The sound lasts for approx 3 seconds.
Could it be a minor fault I could fix myself or does it mean a trip to the local garage?

Had similar probs with linkages to the motor binding and seizing up,Take the door card off and operate it but click the latch over first otherwise it wont lock,its only doing it for 3 secs or so because it gets a feed for that period of time only,if its all ok inside the door then your motor make be creamed ?
