Default Will this work?

A previous classic wrx owner, told me you can reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for about 4 hours and then reconnecting again, is this true or a load of rubbish, he seemed to think it worked for him?

i find half an hour clears all cel faults and re sets on my 93 wrx

or you could just use the connectors under the dash to do it more or less instantly
