Default Bonnet not closing

I have just carried out a face lift changing the front bumper, headlights, corner lights, front grill and bonnet and for some reason the bonnet is not locking in. All of the parts that I changed are all for the newer model. Can anyone help please as I am clueless

make sure u have got the line up right, then drown it in wd40 and play with the clip to lessen it up, should then work, now cover the mechinism in a good oil or greace

I hope you've not left a spanner in the bonnet shut or something daft like that.... not meaning to call you daft... but it's easy done, if you've not touched the bonnet mechanism, or the bonnet itslef, there's no real reason why it shouldn't shut....Mmmm

Had that problem with mine a few times. It was just the locking mech. Needed a good soak in WD40 then some right elbow to slacken it off. Ideally needs removing for a full degrease.

got a simliar problem with my my98, took me ages to get the bugger to close, turned out to be a little spring not being strong enough to pull a little lever, so used a screw driver to push the lever manually, if u look down at the mech u should see a little spring, place a skinny screw driver down and place it to the left of the spring the push it so the spring compresses, should now lock. mine did anyways

on an old car i used to have (not impreza) it was down to the bonnet release switch. if you pulled on it you had to push it back for some reason otherwise the bonnet would not close !!!
