Default Brakes and water

Hi all, ive recently started hearing my back brake/brakes catching from cold when i brake, after 10 mins or so there fine....im sure its happening after i leave it on the drive for more than one day, also when i press my brake pedal so far i hear a click through the pedal, not like its slipping more like a warning sign that somethings wrong...hard to describe.

How full should the water tank be next to the power steering rez ....its full to the brim and the other behind the passenger side headlight is on the full mark, is this correct, if the caps off and then you rev the engine, its goes down a touch and bubbles appear like its coming back in over the top, is this correct. 94 wrx

Thankyou

Bob

Bob,

Issue one sounds like pads binding, and possibly moving very slightly in the caliper.... not really an issue, and more to do with the weather... well, the binding is anyway...

Issue two sounds normal..... the top tank should be full....

Right today im experiencing a weird noise when i press my brakes....i will try to describe whats going on. When i press my brakes hard when slowing in second gear and dont take my foot off the pedal...keep it down, its fine....but if i take my foot off the pedal just as the cars nearly stopped, i get this clunking noise front the front passenger side?? im thinking many thinks like, track rod end, balll joint, caliper, strut.....anything else and what to look for in a worn joint etc.

Bob, as i hinted at before, are the pads a tight fit in the caliper.... or is there a chance they're moving slightly causing these 'clunks'...??

Hi Bob,

I had this noise in an MR2. Not saying it's any of these but have a look.

Start off by checking Disc's (Are they warpped?)
Check all Bushes, drop links etc...
If you find you have warpped disc's make sure you get the hub's checked. Mine were worpped and kept killing disc's!

everything seems to be ok to me....brake pads seem to be seated good with clips nice and tight...could it just be crap pads???
