Default Dump valve position

Just got a bailey dump valve for my '95 wrx, should the metal elbow go directly into the boost pipe or have a hose to join them?

Yip it's HHHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGEEE EEEEEEEEEE, best quality setting on my camera. Glad it helped in hindsight.
