That engine is a new age car engine and uses AVCS variable cam timing. You would need to add additional wiring to control the AVCS and also your USDM engine wiring will not plug into the existing loom or alternatively your existing Type R engine loom will not plug into the sensors on the USDM engine. It can be done but if you havent got time to strip and rebuild your existing engine then you wont have time to wire in this new one.

Best option would be to get it rebuilt, as you are near Watford and not in Yorkshire, try Paul @ Zen Performance in Wellingborough, He'll sort you out.

Cheers

I thought you said ECU was with it? Forget the install he AVCS engine, with the wiring mods needed It'll be more hassle than its worth.

Replacement TD05 turbos can be had cheap as can heads for your engine. Speak to Howard @ HDC Subaru in Hebden Bridge for the parts you require or just buy a complete engine off him, £1000-£1500 should cover it. Will work out much cheaper in the end.
