Default 93 ECU CHIP

HELLO HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR

IV JUST CHECKED MY ECU AS I WAS THINKING ABOUT GETTING A CHIP
ON OPENING THE COVER ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT OF THE BOARD THERE IS A CHIP WITH A WHITE STICKER WITH "PRO 98 RON 300 APPROX" IN HANDWRITING AND THE FOLLOWING STAMPED ON IT
27C1038-20-XGT
9411 WO8 2K
THE CAR HAS BEEN AT PRO DRIVE EMPLOYEES CAR BEFORE
CAN ANYONE TELL ME ANY INFO?IS IT CHIPPED ALREADY?

sounds like it has. Whats boost does the car reach. On the ecu board check to see if the J! resistor has been removed or cut. If so it will be running the map on the chip.

sounds like an original prodrive chip which the scoobyecu is based on, i bet your pushin about 16psi approx. uve got a good chip there

A Genuine Prodrive chip was only 13.64psi and rated at 240BHP in Pre 96 cars.

It also only had a small sticky label on it with a few numbers in handwriting. I can't remember what the numbers where but I think they related to the code checksum, something like 1DDE.

27C1038-20-XGT
9411 WO8 2K

should read 27C10'2'8 not '3'8

9411 is the date code for the device. Meaning November 1994. So the actual chip was manufactured by fujitsu in Nov 1994, so it has at most only been in the car since early 1995.

This is a very late 27C1028 chip, as most of the ones I source are date coded 1992.

HAVENT FITTED A BOOST GAUGE YET IM NOT A BIG FAN OF LOTS OF GAUGES IM TRYING TO SOURCE THE SET OF THREE THAT FIT IN THE CENTRE CONSOLE BY THE STEREO SO BOOST UNKNOWN

BY THE WAY WHERE IS THE J RESISTOR WHAT IT LOOK LIKE

I found this picture on the web and circled what I think is the resistor (from memory) in red. It should say J1 on the circuit board next to it
