Default Problem 3 of 3 - burning smell when I hoof it

Hi

When I drive the car "with gusto", .. I've noticed a brning smell which makes its way into the cockpit.

I really think it is associated with continuous high revs.

Could it be the turbo ? There is no "whine" from the turbo , so that kind of seems fine.

I've also put exhaust wrap and "fire putty" on , a few weeks ago , when I re-fitted the exhaust , but I'm fairly sure the smell has only started recently.

help !

Could be the exhaust wrap.
When the roads are wet the wrap can pick up a fair amount even though it may have been painted.

Check for any small oil leaks that perhaps are soaking into your heatwrap.

may be your rocker cover gasket going and oil dripping and burning on your maifold, common problem.

mine currently has the same prob, and its the rocker cover thing as above. Mine is on the offside (driver's side), which apparently is the most common side due to the position of the exhaust manifold (the heat makes the rocker cover gasket age quickly). Have a look and you should see an oily mark on top of the exhaust heat shield adjacent to each head.
