Default Problems from cold Starting...

I'm running a MY94 STi version 1, and for the past week i've been having problems whilst starting the car from cold first thing in the mornings.

It's not happened everytime I've tried to start the motor, only twice in the past week. The problem is that it tries to fire up, runs for a second or two, then dies, as if the automatic choke is not cutting in to assist the motor in starting. It's a real bitch to get started.

Could anyone here pin point the problem I have so I could get it sorted?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Steve.

Try reading the fault codes to see if anything has been stored...

Sounds like it could be the Coolant Temperature Sensor causing it.

Default Problems from cold Starting

I'm with Fiestaboy on this one............same problem had me wracking my brains for a week.........code 21, got a new Coolant temperature sensor from Subaru, put it in & bingo, now starts everytime, first time.
Turns out that the sender had not packed up completely, just gone wibbly enough so that the ECU "thought" the engine was already warm, so no cold start help was given.
