Default 740cc V's 550cc's Are they noisey?

looking to get myself a set of injectors to compliment my upgrades, and most poeple seem to go 550cc which will cope with my target 400bhp. But have also heard 740cc will do the job just as well and maybe better.

So was going to get 740cc's and let my Motec control them, which apparantly if mapped well should alleviate any idle problems.

But my concern now is are 740cc's injectors really noisey ?. I have been told 550cc injectors are noisey compared to 440cc so are 740cc's going so sound REALLY noisey. Any have any experience ??

Thanks in advance,

no they are not especially noisey. The noise is more a function of the brand/model of injector rather than flow capacity.

Have you or anyone any experience with these .?

I am looking to use these on a Phase1 fuel rail on my MY98. Apparantly these are claimed to be a straight drop in replacement.

I do have first hand experience with those, and I would avoid like the plague. They are remanufactured injectors not new, and they give a terrible idle and cruise. One car I mapped with those we saw the engine visible rocking on idle like it was running on 3 cylinders, we fitted Nismo 550s instead (owner got sick of poor idle) and all was sell.

Cheers,

Just need to try and cancel my order now. But pretty sure these won't fit my phase 1 fuel rail without adapters anyway so have good grounds to cancel order and request refund. They are cheap, but the saying you get what you pay for seems to apply in this instance.

those pictures will phase phase 1 rails direct. I must add the ones I tried were 550cc flow, but the same construction. It's a shame they are a great price.

For what they cost and baring in mind they will fit a phase1 fuel rail. I have just amended my order to pull the size back to 550cc as I am only aiming for 400bhp tops, and fear 740cc may be taking things too far and potentially add to what may already be an irratic idle.

It may have been you just had a 1 off bad experience and a dodgy set of injectors. I will have to take my chances with these and give them a go. For the money, if I cant get them to work, I will take them out and write them off to a bad experience and come talk to you after to buy a set of yours.

Cheers I am sticking with the 740cc, and working on the theory the MOTEC ECU is as about as good as they get, so if the MOTEC can't keep this injectors in check then nothing will, and these injectors should not be sold. If they do work, it free's up some capital to get my 20G turbo sooner rather than later.
