Decat downpipe...
hi
if i fitted a decat downpipe to a standard exhaust would i see much of an improvement in power? and would it still go thought the MOT? im planning on doing the whole system in time but heard that the downpipe is the most restrictive..... what sort of gain would just the downpipe give? with an itg airfilter too?>
would i need a remap with a decat downpipe and a itg airfilter?
the cars a my98 turbo wagon uk
Thanks
Rich

On a my98 you'll see a vast improvement in the smoothness of the engine, an also the way it comes on boost, it'll be a ittle earlier in the rev range.....
should go through an mot with just the centre cat.....
I had a full decat, filter, ported headers, and a larger intercooler before i got a remap....

No worries mate, you'll not stop grinning...
I personally prefer the open neck version.. but others say the twin dump are better.... you pays yer money etc etc etc.......
you should be able to get away with not buying a new gasket, but it might be worth it for safety's sake... but you should be able to reuse the one on the bottom end regardless........
