Help needed with down pipe probs :(
Hi,
Started to fit my down pipe today on my 93 wrx ra. After spending several hours trying to undo all the rusted bolts i then noticed that the old pipe and new have different sensors. The old one is lower down and has 2 wires while the new pipe has the sensor at the top with 3 wires. If i do not remove the top one it catches on the intercooler bracket. Any ideas which one to use as i'm back at work on Friday and need it back together tomorrow. I have posted a few pics if that helps.
Cheers,
Andrew

hi
the bottom wire is a temp senser
the top one is a lamda senser
you shouldn't need both
as your lamda senser should be in the headers
but you can use it as a bung

Yup, as you have no cat you no longer need a cat-on-fire sensor.
Some people prefer to have the lambda sensor (3-wire) in the downpipe rather than the headers incase it disintegrates. If in the headers it will damage turbo - but its a pretty slim chance really and I wouldn't worry.
Try to keep the top turbo heat shield, you may need to take a hack saw to it to get it to fit but I think it is well worth it to keep engine (and intercooler) temps down.
