Default will it fit???

Looking at a new gearbox for my97 uk but its a newer type the number on the top of the new box is ty754 i think its from a 2002 wrx. Can anyone tell me will this fit my classic?????

the gearbox will habve 8 bolts holes on the bell housing and your engine and old box 4 but it will bolt up as the four will meet with four of the 8.

You must ensure you match diffs though.. if it is a uk wrx box then it should work fine but the safest way is to get the rear diff with the box from the donar car.
