Default Problems after de-cat

I have just fitted a full de-cat 3" system to my 97 uk Impreza. It pulls really strong now apart from the engine cuts for a split second sometimes under hard accelleration. I know I need a re map but I can't afford a new ecu and re map until early in the new year.
Does anyone know any other way to help the problem, maybe a fuel cut defenser.
I would be grateful for any advice.
Cheers
Geoff

Your decat is causing some overboost, which in turn is causing a fuel cut (which you seem to have worked out yourself). You can use an FCD to allow you to use the increased boost levels. Or you could also get away with a change of restrictor in the one of the hoses used in the boost control system, to prevent the overboost in the first place.
