Question DIFF CONTROL PROBLEM

I have a 99 type R and the centre diff controller does not work. All it does on the dash is flash and when i turn the dial nothing happens.


Any help would be apprechiated

The problem is usually electrical; I would guess that someone has removed the gearbox and hasn't realised there is an electrical connection to the centre diff.

Check that the diff is plugged in to the loom. If it is, and the wires haven't been ripped out, then you need to check the connection where the wires go in to the diff- they sit in diff oil and have been know to fail.

Also check that the rolly switch is plugged in, centre console.

Spot on, had a diff rebuild,car at garage so will get them to look at it tomorrow,

That will be the problem then- the loom can be repaired as long as its well insulated.

have seen loads of DCCDs with the same problem, most repaired successfully for very little dosh.
