STI 7 PPP/ STI 8 PPP - what are the differences?
Appart from the obvious differences i.e. one is a bug eye and one is a blob eye, what are the main differences between these cars? Are there revisions to the suspension/ engine etc?
Also, does the PPP upgrade comprise of the same on both cars?
Finally, on the assumption that a reasonable (private sale, average mileage and condition) STI 8 PPP can be found for between £15k - £18k, what would you be expected to pay for a reesonable (private sale, average mileage and condition) STI 7 with PPP

The first thing is that we didn't do a performance package for the STi7 as they were JDM only. The first UK car was for 02MY which would make it STi8........
The Performance Packages comprise of basically the same components; exhaust, fuel pump and ECU but there are detail differences between the two as the ECU are different 02 to 03/04MY as well as 05MY.
Suspension changes are limited to detail revisions to spring and damper rates.

Mike,
So an 02 (Bugeye) STI with PPP is an import then? I am getting a little mixed up with my numbers I think!!! What would an 03 STI be then - an STI 9?
I thought I had all the numbers sussed!!

Stephen,
What Mike is trying to say (which is a struggle a times as Mike has problems with the art of english ), is that the numbering of STi's is not that straight forward and it is best to stick with the year of manufacture as the identifier:
MY02 STi
MY03 STi
MY04 STi
MY05 STi etc etc etc, just ignore the STi8, STi9 numbering!
Regards,
Shaun.

most bugeye sti ppp were piggyback ecu and most but not all have been recalled for better fuel pump to be fitted
the later bugeyes and blobeyes are ecutek remapped ecu's enabling better boost/ignition control ie better more powerful i had an early 2003 ppp still very juttery and overfuelled as year went on prodrive map got better,i was not happy with mine and got tsl 333 instead-exactly what i wanted in the first place
