Default A few problems.......

OK kids, please bear with me.........

Over the weekend I changed the downpipe on my 1994 WRX to an open neck 3" - 2.5" decat jobbie. I fired the car up today to see the difference and it sounded great but it was blowing from the gaskets. I called Roger Clark Motorsport and I'm getting some new gaskets in the morning.

However, I couldn't resist talking it for a quick rumble up the road. Before I changed the downpipe, I could hear the dump valve (standard) during spirited use and when changing gear around 3000 revs. Now, I cannot hear the dump valve at all and also the car only boosts to 0.75 bar whereas before it would go to just under 1 bar. The boost is made very gradually as well.

Would a blowing exhaust gasket cause this problem? The car was fine before the de-cat but now it makes less boost and doesn't go nearly as well as I thought it should.

Mods so far are decat centre and downpipe, ninja back box, walboro 255, induction kit.

Any ideas on what could have caused this would be greatly appreciated!!

Ben

youve answered it yourself mate, its blowing from the gaskets. The turbo end of the downpipe would be the most likely

Cheers for the reply, was just wondering whether this would cause such a dramatic decrease in performance.
