Default front crankshaft seal

I have a 98 impreza turbo, about two months the front crankshaft seal went, got it sorted at my local garage, about three weeks later the exact same thing happened, the garage replaced the seal free of charge. A few days ago i noticed three or four drips of oil on my drive, when i ran my finger along the timing belt casing there was fresh oil, now its starting to drip onto the exhaust and smoke out of the vents. Could back-pressure be causing the seal to blow?

could be but could also be that they have caught the lip and flipped it over if they are not familiar with them. it seals for a bit then the pressure pushes past it.
