Default Heat shield for induction kit

In my last car, a 3.0l Z3, I went to great expenses to purchase an induction kit with a heat shield so that the cone was shielded from the heat of the engine bay, lower air temp etc etc

With a lot of the Scooby kits I have seen, there does'nt seem to be this obession with heat soak.

Why is this?

Lots of people stick with the stock airbox, I'm simply fabricating my own due to the custom nature (FMIC pipework etc) Easy enough, Alu, rubber seals & a bit of cardboard..
