Default singing turbo!

Hi lads, my turbo seems to be 'whistling' to me lately. Is this a sign that the bearings in there are on the way out? or is it something else. The performance doesnt seem to be affected. Its a 93WRX with 75K on da clock.

Saying that on a long journey the other day the turbo felt like it was....non turbo!.....just as i got home it managed to kick back into life.

any advice on this would be appriciated.

Cheers

swift

They're not that expensive. You can pick up a good second hand one for about £250

well dont quote me on that!!! but thats what it usually is. you tend to be able to here different noises the more you drive the car and you can point out sounds where as when you first get it, its like sitting in a cockpit and all you can here is the growling and noise as a whole because you just want to drive it
