ECU remap on 97 impreza info needed ...

i was just wondereing about a remap of my ECU , cars a late 97 impreza UK turbo , would i have to upgrade my ECU first , if so how and what to?
Also how and wheres the best place to get a remap ?

You can't just get the standard ECU remapped. Power Engineering do an add on board for the 97/98, but it isn't cheap - take a look at http://www.powerengineering.co.uk/ac...engine.htm#EMU for details.
Other options would be using a replacement ECU like a PowerFC or Link, or you could just add a boost controller (AVC-R or similar).
One mapper who seems to have a good reputation is Bob Rawle (B R Developments), but I haven't had my car remapped so can't say from experience.
