Engine advice needed
After reading several threads on various topics, I must commend the majority in their expertise with Subaru's and there problems. Hence the reason for this post.
PLEASE ADVISE:
I have a 95 import turbo wagon. Was running fine but then the engine went. Motorway driving at approx 80mph loads of smoke out the exhaust and running on three pots. Limped it home to find backpressure had blown the oil dipstick out of its holder, oil in the intercooler, airbox and pipework and about half a gallon in the exhaust. My first thought was hole/crack in piston.
I have removed engine and temporarilly fitted bottom end out of a legacy in and is running fine.
TO THE POINT:
Advice please, Should i rebuild the bottom end of the original ej20 or fit something different. Been toying with the idea of trying to fit a 2.5 engine in. Is there any major probs in doing this, I.E different wiring, ecu, sensor probs. Not electrically minded at all, ok mechanically but really with the old style cars I.E. carbs and points LOL.
Your help would be appreciated.
Cheers

I'm no expert either. But I read a thread the other day, that said the trick with the 2.5 usdm is to put your own heads on, then most of the electrics and pipe work stay the same. If I was you i'd look for some sti heads. 95 is version 2.
