Default Later turbo on MY98

Hi Guys, just wondering if anyone can tell me the difference between the turbos on the My98 and the MY99-00 models, i am thinking of replacing mine and wondered if there would be an advantage having a later model.
Cheers.

I'm 99% sure that would be a backward step... pretty sure that the cars up to 98 had the tdo5, whereas the later ones have the smaller tdo4..... best wait for soemone who knows for sure to confirm though....

Td05's were fitted on the UK cars untill MY96 when they replaced them with the smaller TD04 which is still fitted to the WRX today

Yep, if it's UK, both have TD04 i'm afraid.

So no advantage.

Thats strange because when my local factor checked with their supplier the part numbers were different between years. They couldn't say what the difference was between them though, guess i will have try and read part number on mine.
