Default oil filter

When doing an oil change is it worth while using a subaru oil filter, or a bog standard replacment? Or can this be ugrated to something of a higher standard?
NE recomendations as to what other people use would be great.
Thanks.

For just over a fiver for both the filter and sump plug washer may as well stick with OEM stuff.

I'm running circa 400bhp and use standard filter from subaru dealer never had any probs.

I use just use the stuff from Halfrauds/Motor Factors.

Would be interested to see the this 'non return valve' which is supposidly on OE filters but not motor factors ones.

Cool

tend to find the "gen" filters fit better. As new design now gives better air gap between filter case and exhaust link pipe, thus allowing more air past to prevent oil filter getting too hot.

Non gen filters are still the "old size" / larger diameter.
